"White Flag" was the lead single from Dido's follow-up album, Life for Rent.

The single fared very well, peaking at number one in Australia, Germany and the United World Chart, number two in the UK, number five in France, and became Dido's second top twenty single in the U.S., peaking at number eighteen.

"White Flag" is the biggest hit of Dido's career. It is considered one of her signature songs, and helped Life for Rent sell over ten million copies worldwide. The song is at 21 on the United World Chart's Top Achiever's Top 50, with 6,676,000 sold.

The song was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance on the 47th Annual Grammy Awards, losing to "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera.

The video for the song features an appearance by actor David Boreanaz.
