La Lima

La Lima is a municipality in the Honduran department of Cortés. It is home to the corporate headquarters of the Tela Railroad Company, a subsidiary of Chiquita. The city is divided into two halves, La Lima Vieja, located on the western side of the Chamelecon River, and La Lima Nueva, located on the eastern side of the Chamelecon river.

La Lima has a strong international presence with the FHIA (Fundación Hondureña de Investigación Agrícola) plant laboratories, and the American Zone (Zona Americana) built by the Chiquita banana company in the 1950s in order to provide housing for employees. The "Zona" now incorporates a large foreign population.

La Lima had one of the largest golf course in Central America.
