Get A New Life was a TV show on BBC which allowed people who wanted to move abroad to do so for a month with all bills, rents etc paid for and at the end of the month they could decide if they wanted to stay or return home.

Presenters included Scott Huggins and Melissa Porter.

Memorable editions of this show featured a family leaving Gretna (Scotland) to settle in Hedemora, Sweden and also a lovely couple who dreamt of a new life in Tuscany only to be thwarted by illness. Families featured in moves to New Zealand with a car valetting franchise and Canada as a paramedic equipment advisor/specialist were particularly successful. The show always had that cliffhanger moment on whether people were going to stay and build a new life in their dream destination and go it alone from then on, or return to the UK. There were some surprises! It doesn't appear that follow ups on the progress of families on the show are planned, unfortunately.
