Charlotte de Valois



Charlotte of Valois (October 23, 1516September 18, 1524) was a princess of France, the second daughter of Francis I of France and Claude de France. At one point Charles V was bound by the Treaty of Noyon to marry her. However, this obligation was later renounced. She was a sickly, delicate child and died from measles at age eight.

Her portrait was painted at age seven by Jean Clouet and can be found at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
