BBCK

In early 2006, Alliance Atlantis unveiled BBCK, a new branding for the evening block of programming on BBC Kids which is aimed towards an older audience. They have also launched a separate website making it appear as though BBCK is a separate channel similar to Noggin/The N in the United States. Officially however, it is considered one channel.

History

Licensed by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in November 2000 to Alliance Atlantis, the channel was launched on September 7, 2001 under its current name.

On January 18, 2008, a joint venture between Canwest and GS Capital Partners bought Alliance Atlantis and gained AAC's interest in BBC Kids.
